Counting on Minnesota’s future

Our mission is to educate Minnesota communities and the public about the critical importance of census data and an accurate American Community Survey (ACS) and decennial Census to drive a strong economy, sustain healthy communities, and improve the well-being of all Minnesotans.

Minnesotans for the ACS and Census partners with historically undercounted communities to improve response rates and knowledge of the importance behind the data in our everyday lives.

Making the Invisible visible

MACS engages trusted voices and stakeholders to support mostly invisible but essential Census/ACS community tools.

We do this by focusing on four goals and service areas:

1. Promote democratic engagement.

2. Enable the use of Census and ACS data to promote inclusion and equity in democratic engagement and shared prosperity.

3. Provide expertise, education, and training.

4. Provide leadership through a sustained and singular focus on the Census/ACS.

MACS has a singular focus on the Census and American Community Survey

MACS links Minnesota with Census/ACS champions nationally, the Census Bureau,  and those doing similar work in other states. We draw from our experiences to influence national Census/ACS policy and practices and what is happening in other states. In turn, we come away with timely information, skills, knowledge, and relationships that build our capacity to support Census/ACS work in Minnesota.
