Our Mission

MACS is registered as a nonprofit corporation in the state of Minnesota, April 2022. MACS was founded in 2013 to educate and engage Minnesotans, growing to over 200 supporters statewide in every sector of civic and economic life. Our mission is to educate Minnesota communities and the public about the critical importance of census data and an accurate decennial Census to drive a strong economy, sustain healthy communities, and improve the well-being of all Minnesotans. 

Propel Nonprofits is the 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor for MACS - Minnesotans for the American Community Survey.

MACS is your link to what’s happening with the issues threatening Census data and opportunities to ensure accurate data for all Minnesota communities. We’re following developments on Capitol Hill, engaging with Minnesota’s congressional delegation on what Census data mean for their constituents, hearing from census data users, analysts, decision makers, and beneficiaries. We connect with a broad-based and growing community of Minnesotans who understand the unique significance of Census/ACS data.
