  • The Census Project is a broad-based network of national, state, and local organizations that supports a fair and accurate 2020 Census and comprehensive American Community Survey (ACS — the modern version of the census “long form”). Participating stakeholders represent a diverse range of American sectors that rely on objective data for decision-making and promote civic engagement.

  • Minnesota Compass was developed when leaders from across Minnesota voiced a desire to have credible, easy-to-access data about their communities. Led by Wilder Research, a team of advisors representing business, government, nonprofit, and philanthropy makes up Minnesota Compass, a statewide resource for reliable data. Advisor and community input is still a foundational part of our governance today.

  • The University of Minnesota Extension Community Development partners with Minnesota communities to develop capacity, tools, and programs that respond to community needs.

Organizational Partners

  • The Center for Rural Policy and Development provides high quality, objective and nonpartisan research to examine and advance policy and decision-making, rural advocacy, and civic engagement for Greater Minnesota’s development. The Center for Rural Policy and Development is the leading and most trusted source of policy, research and recommendations to advance and improve the quality of life in Greater Minnesota.

  • MACS joined the Minnesota Council on Foundations to found the Minnesota Census Mobilization Partnership in a cross-sector collaboration of organizations and individuals working together to advocate for policies and resources and engage Minnesotans to achieve the goal of fully inclusive, honest and accurate 2020 Census in Minnesota.  MCF has launched post-2020 census work with the Census and Democracy Partnership starting in June 2022.

  • For four decades, the West Central Initiative Foundation has worked alongside the people of White Earth Nation and west central Minnesota to shape a stronger region. As a regional community foundation and economic development district, the West Central Initiative Foundation invests in people, communities, and systems that make our corner of Minnesota vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable.

  • The Community Geographic Information Systems (CGIS) program provides analysis and mapping support to empower community-based organizations and government agencies to make a data-driven case for their work. They fill in critical gaps in capacity to democratize access to public information. The CGIS program is a program of the Center for Urban & Regional Affairs (CURA).

  • The Minnesota State Demographic Center is home to the State Demographer, Susan Brower who serves as a crucial resource for helping counties, cities, and townships participate in the 2020 Census.
